English As 2nd Language Learn English
If you are planning to learn English as a second language, you have to consider some points in order to learn the language quickly and easily. The basic steps you will need to know while learning English as a second language aren’t very hard to implement. So, go through them and keep them in mind at all times.
First, create an environment for yourself which will automatically increase your ability to learn the language. Since you are learning English as a second language, this may be a little difficult to achieve at first. You might be living in a non English speaking country or you may not have other English speakers around you. Try to join the nearest English language teaching institutes where you can find other people like yourself whom you can easily interact with.
Another great way to learn English (along with a lot of slang words) is through television and movies. Television and movies are good ways of learning English (or any language, for that matter) as they show you the practical and routine usage of the words and sentences you are learning. By observing how native English speakers pronounce and use words, you can improve your own language.
It is also possible that some of your friends or acquaintances are also trying to learn English just like you. Get in touch with them and let them know about your efforts. Make it a habit to communicate with them in English only. This will help you and your friend get a good hold over the language in quite a short period of time.
Look for places where native English speakers come together in your area. Hang out at these places and try to interact with them daily. Let them know your intentions and that you are trying to learn their language. They will all help you out with great enthusiasm and you will be able to speak English fluently very soon. Attend seminars, conferences or lectures where native English speakers may attend as well and look for opportunities to start up a conversation.
Finally, instead of concentrating on developing one aspect, try to work on all parts of the language at the same time. You do not have to go for complex sentences yet but you must understand basic grammar, sentence construction and proper usage of words. Along with this, focus on increase your vocabulary by learning new words daily, understanding their meaning and putting them to use when you speak. If possible, make it a point to find related words of a new word you have just learned, it’s antonyms and it’s synonyms as well. In this way, instead of learning just one word, you would have increased your vocabulary by many words at the same time.
As you progress slowly, you should be able to learn English and use it so fluently that no one can detect it is your second language.
